Been to this location a few times and it never disappoints. Food: consistent, steamy hot, and tasty. They have a good mix of traditional dim sum and new inventive dishes. Solid 9.5/10, docked 0.5 points for not having pork blood with chives... Service: wait staff, servers, cooks, and managers are all efficient and attentive. They are mindful about not seating kids near serving area! Solid 10/10. Ambiance: great vibe and trendy. Docking 1 point for the giant screen on loop which can be distracting. 9/10. All and all, would choose HL restaurants for dim sum and dinner for our family weekend meals!
Really solid dimsum with tons of options. The ambience is really nice inside and has great decor/lighting. Tables are really close together though. Had things ranging from siu mai to crispy pork dumplings to shrimp rice paper. Everything tasted really good but I did feel it was a bit overpriced for what it was. They had a daily special of fried seafood sticks which kinda just tasted like mayo + seafood chopped up and fried. Wasn't the best but at least it was worth a try. If you go on a busy day, be prepared for slow service and service that rushes you a bit. It's understandable if they're packed but I got reminded 5 times for "last calls"
Concubine steam chicken, combination fried rice, and the best was Australian wagyu with mushrooms! Fried crab egg yolk was just okay or efu noodle. Would like to try the crispy fish skin and giant clam with noodles next time
Wow! What a great dim sum hall! I thought overall it was very good and this location is huge and clean. Highly recommend the Chrysanthemum tea- it's delicious. The Sui Mai, Shrimp dumplings, and no mai gai were all good, but on par with other dim sum Ive had in Milpitas. My favorites were the turnip cake, molten egg buns (SO good), and the egg tarts are some of the best Ive had. The baked pork buns we're also **chefs kiss** Overall great authentic Cantonese dim sum! It would be 5-stars only some of the fish in the tanks were clearly dead...and it grossed me out a bit.
Quick take: Best service My family has received the best service every time we dine at HL Milpitas. The dim sum is pretty good. We also dined for dinner in a private room. The service is top notch. Thank you.
We come to HL almost every Saturday. Both food and service are above average. The kids like the salted eggs yolk lava black buns and Siu Mai.
Best Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. Great food, service and nice ambiance. Excellent place for family gatherings, corporate events and weddings. We have been a loyal customer since 2020. Never one time disappoint us.
